The Cycling Section Perhaps you have just bought a new bike, or you just want to get fit. A bike is the best way for travelling around the lanes and roads, also you meet the friendliest people and you feel part of the surroundings. If you have never joined a Cycling Club before, or are looking for a new Club, then try a pleasant cycle ride on a Sunday morning as an opportunity to find out what we can offer you. Our Club meets on Sundays throughout the year, leaving Leamington Town Hall shortly after 9am. Rides usually cater for the steadier pace (length 3 - 4 hours including a tea stop) and for the faster rider using the time as training (average over 50 miles). Most rides are finished by 2pm. Mountain bike? Hybrid? Racer or touring bike? If it has at least two wheels, you are welcome to join us. Road racing and Road time trials - No problem! We hold Club TTs every Wednesday evening from mid April to August, with refreshments available, and run regular training rides throughout the year. Road races and Open TTs are also included in our calendar. A programme of social events throughout the year can include more than just the cyclists in the family. We organise a Christmas dinner and a Prize presentation in the "social season", also other events so the non-cyclist does not feel left out. Our members range in age from teens to seventies and beyond. Leamington C & AC is a rare example of the true sports club with sections catering for both Cyclists and Athletes. We have Athletics facilities at Edmondscote Track in Princes Drive, where many Midlands competitions take place. The Cost (Cycling Section) Cost of joinig the cycling section is £23 for full members. Social members pay £5, although donations are gratefully received in excess of this amount!
