Open 10 mile Time Trial Competition for solo riders

1. Car parking:
Due to problems with parking in the past we have lost the use of the Offchurch
Village Hall and are therefore grateful to be able to use the facilities at
the Cricket Club. There may or may not be a cricket match on the day of the
time trial. In any event, please park on the grass area to the right of the
hard standing and entrance, and work in with the cricketers and their supporters
and officials, if necessary. The loss of this facility will start to make the
course difficult to use in the future.
2. Toilets: There are toilets
in the cricket club house which we can use, but as with the parking please work
in with the persons of the cricket club - it is their facility. PLEASE USE THEM.
3. The distance to the start from the Headquarters is approximately 2 miles.
Please allow enough time to ride there.
4. No parking of competitors’
or spectators’ cars are allowed in Mortons’ Farm area near to the start, or
within 300m of the start as it is a fairly busy road in which the event starts.
Please do not park vehicles in front of any event safety signs which have been
put there for riders benefit.
5. Please do not undertake ‘U’ turns in
the vicinity of the start or finish. Should this be noted, riders will be liable
for disqualification.
6. Riders must not stop at the finish but should
continue along the Fosse Way to the next left turn which takes you back to the
event Headquarters.
7. Obey all Highway Code and Traffic Regulations.
Cycling Time Trials Regulations must be observed.
IN THE INTEREST OF YOUR OWN SAFETY, Cycling Time Trials RTTC and the event
promoters strongly advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets
an internationally accepted safety standard.

Directions to the START: Turn left from
Headquarters towards Offchurch, left at ‘T’ junction and go up hill, left at
staggered cross roads and straight over at next cross road junction (Fosse Way).
Start is approximately 0.1 mile to the East of the Fosse Way on the Long Itchington
Road. Distance to start approximately 2 miles.
Course Details:
START on road between Long Itchington and Offchurch, about 0.1 mile east
of B4455 (Fosse Way) crossroads level with centre of wooden bus shelter on south
of road (yellow paint mark). Proceed west to crossroads, turn left (TAKE CARE
AND GIVE WAY TO TRAFFIC ON THE FOSSE WAY) along B4455 to road island at junction
with A425 (TAKE CARE AT ISLAND). Proceed straight over island and continue along
B4455 and over M40 bridge to next road island at junction with B4100 (Harwoods
House). Encircle island and retrace along B4455 (Fosse Way) to road island
at junction with A425 (TAKE CARE AT ISLAND). Proceed straight on B4455 to FINISH
about 0.1 mile north of bridge over Grand Union canal, level with first gully
in lay-by on left (yellow paint mark) and opposite telegraph pole by field gate.
