John Herring (1h 14m 28s) returned to winning-ways by taking full points in the LC&AC 30 mile TT. A recent cycling holiday in Tuscany, with team mates Paul Preston, Len Orrick and Tony Smith, has obviously done him the world of good as he once again trounced the opposition by nearly 2 minutes. 2nd placed Smith (1 16 13)could offer no excuses apart from feeling crackered after the 400 miles of training with Herring and co. whilst 3rd placed Mike Ford (1 17 56) is returning to form after a spill during a 25m TT on the F1 course in Bedfordshire.
Richard Gostick's 2nd lap efforts continue to surprise. Once again, due to the increased performance over the last 15 miles, he was able to move-up the finishing order and displace Phil Galpin, whilst sole female competitor Pam Styles (1 33 59) was over a minute faster than lanterne rouge Geoff Mumford (1 35 01).
Of the more "timid" group, who elected to make only one circumnavigation of the course (15 miles) Phil Burridge (40m 39s) was the fastest, discounting the Tandem pair of Steve and Christine Walker (40 34) easily beating Hill Climb specialist Pete Taylor (41 23).
