Update - more success for Nadine Nadine Garioud competed locally on Saturday 15th May in the veteran's 10 mile time trial on the Princethorpe circuit, finishing in 24:47 to take the first lady prize. Her busy weekend continued with a trip to Wales where, early on Sunday morning, she competed in the Welsh national 25 mile championship on the R25/7a Raglan course. Finishing in a time of 1:05:14 Garioud set a new 25 mile personal best and bettered Angie Morgan's 1987 C & AC club record by almost a minute. The performance was good enough to give Garioud 5th place in the championship which was won by Wendy Houvenaghel (Royal Air Force CA), with Wendy Hall (Climb on Bikes RT) second and Coventry's Michelle Brown (LukRacing.net) taking third place. Early season success for Nadine Leamingon C & AC cyclist Nadine Garioud has made a successful start to the season, in her first three open races of the season she has achieved two wins and a 3rd place finish. Tony Smith and Seth Mayhew also represented Leamington in the race, Tony Smith finishing in 45 min 23 sec and Seth Mayhew was delighted to finish in 47 min and 17 seconds only to learn that he had been given a 1 min 50 sec time penalty for arriving late at the start line. The men's race was won by Sam Barker of API Bikes in 38 min 03 sec. Sunday's Mike Lunn Memorial 10 mile race was held on the Silverstone bypass, but strong winds meant that all the riders were well down on their normal times. Nadine Garioud won the ladies' race in 29 min 34 sec and Seth Mayhew finished in 31 min 04 sec. Once again Sam Barker of API Bikes won the mens race in a time of 23 min 40 sec. They were chosen by A5 Rangers to represent cobbles on the road of the classic Paris - Roubaix cycling race.
