Cakes and Leamington C & AC

In an effort to boost their performances many C & AC cyclists are supplementing their diets by eating vast quantities of cakes. For maximum effect cakes are taken immediately after a time trial and are washed down with mugs of hot tea.

Jan Ford, Liz Gardner and Roger Gardner are well known cake suppliers. A common form of entrapment is to offer the cyclist "free" slices of cake until they become helplessly addicted. When Liz and Roger were confronted earlier this week, whilst selling cakes from a secluded Warwickshire garage, Liz pretended that she had gone deaf and Roger could not comment, as his
mouth was full of chocolate cake.

Cakes openly available at time trials

Tony Smith - enhanced performance ?

At present, RTTC have no plans to introduce doping tests for cake taking. However, judging by the improved performance of many C & AC cyclists this season, there might soon be some official interest in the Leamington cakes!!
